Chow Chow Breeders Agreement

The Breeder Agrees to:

Carefully screen potential buyers to ensure that the dogs will be placed in an appropriate home.

Tell the potential buyer if you think they would be better off with another breed, or no dog at all.

Let the potential buyer see your kennel on request.

Provide referrals to other breeders if you do not have anything suitable.

Use a written contract and guarantee, or at least an oral agreement, when selling a dog.

Provide a registration slip, a pedigree, and up-to-date shots/health records with every puppy and dog you sell.

Honestly discuss special problems associated with chows and point out the need for socialization of the dog.

Offer assistance and advice on grooming, training, etc for the life of the dog.

Help place the dog (or take it back) if for some reason the new owner cannot keep the dog.

Not sell puppies that are less than 8 weeks old.

Not sell puppies without papers (registration slip and 3-5 generation pedigree), or charge extra for papers.
